New hardware

Azzurra has just been equipped with the following new equipment:

  • A second GPU node equipped with 4 Tesla V100.
  • A visualization node with a Quadro RTX 6000 graphics card.
  • The SMP node memory increases to 1TB.

Maintenance on Oct. 5-6

A massive cluster update operation will take place on Tuesday 6 October and Wednesday 7 October. The OS and drivers of the whole cluster will be updated. Azzurra will be inaccessible during this period. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Molecular dynamics simulations

The ICN research project Simulations of biomolecular complexes involved in chemical senses (olfaction and taste) is taking advantage of the Azzurra HPC cluster.

Maintenance on August 3-4

On August 3 and 4, the university’s wired network will be disrupted due to operational maintenance on the core network.

It is therefore possible that the connection to Azzurra is cut at times on these days. Our apologies for the inconvenience.

Maintenance on Thursday, June 3rd

We inform you that an unexpected maintenance will take place on Azzurra this Thursday, June 3rd between 9 am and 5 pm.

Azzurra will remain online during the maintenance. However, we caution users that some related services (including login, access to /home directories, license servers) might be unreachable at some point during that day.

OpenMP and GPU training sessions

OpenMP and GPU (OpenACC and OpenMP) training sessions will be organized by the MSI. These courses, opened to all UCA students and staff, will take place next september (Valrose). Each training will take place over two days.

In order to determine the date for each training session, please fill in the OpenMP doodle and the GPU doodle before May 26.

These are advanced courses for people experienced in development.

16 new AMD nodes

Azzurra has recently increased its computing power with 16 new nodes equipped with 2 AMD Epyc 7302 @ 3 GHz – 16 cores processors, i.e. 32 cores per node and 256 GB of memory.

New Slurm queues are available for everyone to use the new AMD nodes: amd and amdcourt. Click here to read their configuration.
